Liam Cronin of RDI Hub is recognised as the Digital Advocate of the Year for his work in the industry
Dublin – 28 March 2025: Digital Business Ireland, the country’s largest representative body for digital and online businesses, announced Waterways Ireland as the National Website of the Year at an awards ceremony in Dublin last night.
The 2025 National Digital Awards were held at Twenty-Two in Dublin where the winners and runners-up were crowned in front of over 250 attendees from the digital sector.
The sold-out event recognised the best of digital businesses the length and breadth of the country. It consisted of 16 categories featuring the best websites, people, and innovations of the year. Leading digital accessibility campaigner and CEO of RDI Hub in Kerry, Liam Cronin took home the Digital Advocate of the Year award, while a selection of businesses across the sectors, won big at this year’s iteration.
This event marked the fifth year of the awards, and it was the most subscribed to yet, with more than 600 businesses, people, and organisations from across Ireland entering this year’s programme.
New categories introduced in this year’s series includes the Progressing Diversity Award which celebrates individuals and organisations advancing diversity and inclusion within the digital space. This inaugural award was won by HERSPORT who aim to encourage more women and girls into sport participation.
This year’s awards were supported by key sponsors including Hibernia Venture Labs, .IE, Byrne Wallace, All Human, Core Optimisation, Truffle Hog, Planet Payments, New Graphic, Virgin Media Business, Rockwood Public Affairs, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland, Strike Digital, and Trustpilot.
The DBI National Digital Awards judging panel, composed of respected eCommerce and digital professionals from leading industry companies and service providers, played a key role in evaluating the submissions. Throughout both rounds of this year’s awards, the panel noted the high quality of entries, which made the process of selecting the winners and runners-up particularly challenging.
Speaking of the awards, Caroline Dunlea, Chairperson of Digital Business Ireland said: “Over the past five years, the National Digital Award series has witnessed tremendous growth in entry numbers and quality, demonstrating the growing importance of the sector and the ways in which businesses are embracing digital tools to increase efficiency and change. Throughout the judging process, we have been inspired by the dynamism, ingenuity, innovation, and talent of the organisations, businesses, and the people involved.
I would like to congratulate the winners and runners-up in each of the 16 categories this year, but I would also like to offer my sincere thanks to all who entered this year’s programme, and I encourage those who not have been successful this year, to take the key learnings on-board from this year’s process and get involved once again for the 2026 iteration.”
The sold-out event was held in Twenty-Two Dublin, with MC DP Fitzgerald of Truffle Hog as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
